General Tire will sponsor the first ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards event at Charlotte Motor Speedway since 2004, when the General Tire 150 goes green on May 24, 2018, after qualifying for the Coca-Cola 600.
One of the 10 Days of NASCAR Thunder's showpiece nights will feature some of stock car racing's rising stars competing for a prestigious victory at one of the world's premier racing venues. Drivers including Ryan Newman, Adam Petty and Kerry Earnhardt used ARCA victories at Charlotte's iconic 1.5-mile oval to springboard their careers.
"Charlotte Motor Speedway is thrilled to host the General Tire 150 as part of our spectacular 10 Days of NASCAR Thunder," said Greg Walter, Charlotte Motor Speedway's executive vice president. "We greatly appreciate the support of such a top-notch title sponsor in General Tire, and we look forward to witnessing one of the most exciting ARCA races in recent memory when the stars come back to Charlotte on May 24."
General Tire has also renewed its status as the official tire of the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards. The General Tire 150 will serve as a home race for the event's title sponsor, which is headquartered in Fort Mill, South Carolina.
"We are really excited about adding Charlotte Motor Speedway to the 2018 ARCA race schedule," General Tire Marketing Director Travis Roffler said.
"With over 500 employees working in our corporate headquarters, located just south of Charlotte, we wanted to bring a race close to home for them, in addition to the many dedicated racing fans in the area. It's going to be a great way to kick off such a fun holiday weekend at the speedway."
