Speedway Children’s Charities (SCC) returns to spread holiday cheer at Speedway Christmas presented by Atrium Health with the second annual Trees of Hope. Thirteen spectacularly decorated trees, each uniquely designed by a local charity, are set to shine a light on important causes, while guests can learn, engage and support impactful missions throughout the holiday season.

The 13 charities ready to spread holiday cheer this season:

  • Charlotte Eagles Soccer Club: A nonprofit organization whose vision is to see lives transformed through teams, motivating people to follow Christ.

  • Children’s Attention Home: An organization committed to being a community that exceeds industry standards of care, pursues innovation, and practices and equips youth and families to achieve healthy independence and sustainable success.

  • The Down Syndrome Association of Greater Charlotte: A local group whose mission is to enhance the quality of life for all people with Down Syndrome by empowering individuals, families and professionals with information and support through education, social programs and community partnerships.
  • Folds of Honor Foundation: A national nonprofit organization whose noble mission is to provide educational scholarships to spouses and children of America’s fallen and disabled service members.
  • Isabella Santos Foundation: A local group dedicated to improving rare pediatric cancer treatment options to provide transformational care for kids with cancer, aiming to increase survival rates worldwide.
      • Power Cross Ministries: An organization committed to spreading the word of Christ into the local community as well as reaching out to young men and their families through athletics, tutoring and character-building.
              • Safe House Project: A nonprofit group working to empower communities and individuals to identify and support human trafficking victims and ensure that they have access to safe, quality housing and holistic care.
              • Wings of Eagles Ranch: A local nonprofit that serves as a center of hope for families with special-needs children and adults as well as at-risk youth, giving them the opportunity to “Soar on Wings like Eagles.”

Speedway Christmas visitors can explore each organization’s story and cast votes for their favorite Christmas tree in the Christmas Village every Thursday through Sunday. Voting – done through financial contributions – is available, five tickets for $5, 10 for $10 and 20 tickets for $20, with each ticket counting as a vote. All proceeds support Speedway Children’s Charities, with each charity receiving a donation to support their mission.

“We’re thrilled to bring back ‘Trees of Hope’ at this year’s Speedway Christmas, giving families a special opportunity to learn more about and support 13 incredible organizations that are each making an impact on the lives of children here in the greater-Charlotte community,” said Taylor Kirby, director of SCC’s North Carolina chapters. “Every vote makes a difference in helping these charities expand their impact and we can’t wait to see the creativity each organization brings to spread some Christmas joy.”
