zMAX Dragway is set to make history as the Bellagio of dragstrips hosts the American Rebel Light NHRA 4-Wide Nationals featuring the 1,000th Top Fuel race this weekend. From legendary names to once-in-a-lifetime moments, this year's 4-Wide Nationals, April 25-27, promises to be a celebration of the decades all weekend long, putting fans first and celebrating a weekend to remember.
Here are a few of the can’t-miss attractions coming to the track this week:
FIRE IT UP
Kicking off the weekend with a throwback thrill, Friday and Saturday, fans can watch as Don Garlits – the NHRA’s inaugural Top Fuel winner back in 1963 – fires up his own dragster in a special Cackle Fest, paying tribute to the fan-favorite Top Fuel category. Fans will want to show up early to catch the roar before Friday’s first nitro qualifying session at 3:30 p.m. and again on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. for a blast from the past.
AUTOGRAPH EXTRAVAGANZA
The celebration of Sunday’s 1,000th Top Fuel race continues Saturday at 9:30 a.m. as fans meet the icons of Top Fuel in an exclusive autograph session featuring every 100th winner in Top Fuel history and inaugural winner Garlits. Legends like Doug Herbert and Cory McClenathan will join today’s milestone winners of Antron Brown and Brittany Force, to sign exclusive commemorative hero cards. Fans can stop by for the rare opportunity to meet Top Fuel winners from the past six decades, all in one place for this unforgettable moment.
STEP INTO HISTORY
Before engines fire up Sunday, the celebration will continue at the SealMaster Track Walk. Fans will get a personal chance to walk in the tread marks of greatness down the four-wide lanes of the legendary zMAX Dragway. Garlits will lead the pack Sunday morning at 10:50 a.m., while fans follow behind.
SPECIAL 1,000TH TROPHY
It wouldn’t be a celebration without a trophy. The winner of the 1,000th Top Fuel race will not only take home the coveted Wally, but also a special commemorative trophy crafted by Tom Patsis with Cold Hart Art to mark the milestone. In closing ceremonies, this unique trophy will be presented by none other than Garlits himself.
The weekend will be packed with even more ways for fans to get in on the fun. Nitro Alley will serve as the ultimate fan zone with Nitro School, meet and greets, Q&As, live entertainment, and so much more. Every ticket doubles as a pit pass, giving fans unmatched access to the world’s fastest motorsport. Get up close as crews wrench on 11,000-horsepower machines, snap selfies with drivers, and explore the interactive displays and attractions along the Manufacturers Midway.
With four-wide fury and nearly 50,000 horsepower roaring to life at once, the American Rebel Light NHRA 4-Wide Nationals at zMAX Dragway is already a sensory overload.
