The track is ready, the infield grass has its iconic Bank of America 500 logo painted and fans from 2,900 cities, 18 countries and all 50 U.S. states are preparing to converge on Charlotte Motor Speedway for Saturday's adrenaline-filled Bank of America 500, the only Saturday night race in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup.
Alan Jones of the Jones Sign Company oversaw the painting process, which took six hours and required nearly 2,000 gallons of paint to cover three acres with logos. Two of the three acres comprise the frontstretch grass, while the third acre makes up the Turn 3 grass.
The preparations are part of the lead-up to what is sure to be a thrilling Bank of America 500 featuring 12 drivers fighting for a victory that will advance the winner to the Chase's Round of 8.
