Kyle Larson’s seventh-place finish in the Cook Out 400 had no impact on his odds to win the NASCAR Cup Series championship.
Nor did Denny Hamlin’s second-place finish, Christopher Bell’s sixth-place finish, William Byron’s 13th-place finish, Ryan Blaney’s 11th-place finish, or Chase Elliott’s ninth-place finish.
The six favorites in BetMGM’s Cup Series odds before Sunday’s race in Richmond remained the six favorites after Sunday’s race. But there was significant movement below those drivers, most notably for Joey Logano.
Entering the fourth-to-last regular-season race, Logano was in ninth place in the Cup Series standings and had the 10th-shortest odds at +2000 to win his third career championship. After the near-win in Virginia, he jumped to +1100, the eighth-shortest odds.
Despite the jump, betting interest in Logano hasn’t increased early this week. BetMGM’s bettors have been cautious about his championship chances for most of the season, backing him with approximately 5% of the tickets and handle throughout the summer.
Larson remains the most popular pick, leading in both tickets and handle.

Brad Keselowski is now +1100 after entering the weekend at +1800. Martin Truex Jr., moved from +1500 to +1100 despite exiting after 158 laps with engine trouble. And Tyler Reddick jumped from +1200 to +900 after a fourth top-three finish in his last five starts.
