Fans seeking the ultimate family-friendly color rush should prepare for a show unlike any other this weekend at Charlotte Motor Speedway. The Goodguys 23rd Pennzoil Southeastern Nationals revs up Friday with more than 2,500 vintage cars - including a colorful array of racing classics like a 1990 Oldsmobile Cutlass driven by the late Rob Moroso, a three-time NASCAR XFINITY Series winner at Charlotte.
In addition to a unique collection of cars all across Charlotte's iconic 1.5-mile oval and infield, the scenic view of four-wheeled relics also features a wide variety of fan-friendly activities. Fans taking in the Goodguys Pennzoil Southeastern Nationals can also enjoy an all-new FMX (Freestyle Motocross) exhibition as well as tire-squealing classic car AutoCross with two-time Indianapolis 500 winner Al Unser Jr. among the competitors.
"Goodguys is a great, family-oriented event and there are a lot of special cars to see," said Carolina Vintage Racers President Phil Terry, who will bring his 1950 Chevrolet to the show. "It's more of a gathering place for everybody. They can swap parts and look at all kinds of cars. It's a really good affair for car owners and people who like cars. It's kind of like a family reunion for a lot of us."
