Charlotte Motor Speedway is gearing up for an action-packed NASCAR Playoff weekend full of events leading up to the pivotal Bank of America ROVAL™ 400 on Sunday, Oct. 13. From Friday’s Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR) Fan Fest to the GRAMMY-nominated Eli Young Band rocking the pre-race concert on Sunday, America’s Home for Racing is ready to offer fans of all ages an unforgettable experience all weekend long.

Fan-First Friday

Friday is all about the fans at America’s Home for Racing! Kick-off race weekend as the Charlotte Motor Speedway Fan Zone comes alive with a full slate of entertainers, race-themed concessions, souvenir trucks and electric music to fill the atmosphere. This FREE event is open to all starting at 4:30 p.m. with plenty of fun for the whole family.

Calling all Joe Gibbs Racing fans! Don’t miss the opportunity to meet NASCAR Cup Series stars Christopher Bell, Ty Gibbs, Denny Hamlin, Martin Truex Jr; NASCAR legend Bobby Labonte and current JGR NASCAR Xfinity Playoff drivers, Sheldon Creed and Chandler Smith at the Toyota Racing Display. Join them for an exclusive Q&A and autograph session from 4:30 to 7:00 p.m. The first 225 fans to pick up a wristband from the Charlotte Motor Speedway Avenue of Flags starting at 8 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 11 will secure a spot for the autograph session. 

Igniting Young Minds

More than 2,000 students from across the region are set to gather at the STEAM Expo on Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. for a hands-on look at how Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math come to life through motorsports. The interactive exhibits will feature BASF science experiments, U.S. Legend Cars International racing demonstrations, Central Piedmont Community College education booths and over 50 additional vendors. Offering students a glimpse into how STEAM affects everyday career paths, the event goes along with STEAM’s year-long program of offering students educational hands-on experiences. 

NASCAR Hauler Parade – Rolling Thunder 

The excitement continues Friday night as the NASCAR Cup Series haulers roll through the campgrounds to the Fan Zone for the fan-favorite Hauler Parade. Get an up-close look at the impressive haulers that transport your favorite cars across the country and hear the drivers’ hand-picked drive-up songs. Trackside Live host Jose Castillo will get the crowd pumped up for a weekend of racing fun. Capping off the Friday night kick-off, an awe-inspiring fireworks show will light the night sky.

All-New Camper Party presented by THOR

Saturday night thrills are set as the first-ever Camping Party presented by THOR hits the infield from 8:00 to 11:00 p.m. Open to all fans, this FREE bash will feature exhilarating appearances from the Dirty Mo Media crew and DJ Slim McGraw. Expect exciting activities such as life-sized hamster balls, adult three-wheel races, cornhole competitions and prizes galore. Free food and beverages will be available while supplies last and to top it all off, the night will culminate in a massive fireworks show. Fans can enter the infield at the Gate 13 tunnel and find the Camper Party rockin’ in front of the Speedway TV.

Ready to Rock the ROVAL™

Before the engines fire up for Sunday’s cut-off race, fans can catch two pre-race concerts featuring NASCAR-favorite Tim Dugger and GRAMMY-nominated Eli Young Band in the infield. From Dugger’s classic country hits to Eli Young Band’s chart-toppers like “Love Ain’t and “Crazy Girl,” this pre-race show is not one to miss. Be one of the first to hear Eli Young Band’s latest single, “Home in Hometown” performed live at Charlotte Motor Speedway. The concert is free for all Sunday Bank of America ROVAL™ 400 ticketholders, with an option to upgrade to a Track Pass for front-stage access to both concerts and driver introductions. 

Coffee with the Faces of NASCAR

In addition to the high-speed action on the track, fans will have the chance to meet the big-name drivers of NASCAR, both past and present at the Echo Park Coffee Cup Series Stage in the Fan Zone. Sunday starting at 10:30 a.m., appearances are scheduled for Kyle Petty, Zane Smith, Todd Gilliland, Brad Keselowski and this year’s grand marshals Ricky Rudd and Carl Edwards. Don’t miss your chance to see your favorite drivers up close and hear their stories firsthand.
