Elvis Presley’s 1975 Ferrari Dino
The story of Elvis Presley’s Ferrari Dino 308GT4 Coupe is almost as iconic as the singer himself. After being named an honorary captain of the Memphis Police Department in 1976, he equipped this Ferrari, nicknamed "Black Mamba," with dashboard police lights. Instead of pulling people over to issue tickets, he was known to tell them to slow down and leave them with an autograph as opposed to a fine.
Unlike most of his personal collection – which Elvis bought new – he made an exception for this Ferrari, which he purchased for $21,000 in October 1976. Now, AutoFair attendees can see this classic car up-close!
Showcase Pavilion
Leading the Showcase Pavilion charge for AutoFair is the infamous 1984 yellow Jeep J-10 Honcho pickup truck from the 1996 storm-chasing thriller, "Twister." This rugged, screen-used vehicle, driven by Helen Hunt and the late Bill Paxton, will be on display, giving guests the chance to witness a piece of film history.
The famed yellow Jeep will be featured alongside a dazzling display of TV and movie car replicas, including James Dean’s 1965 Porsche 550 Spyder Roadster Replica, a 1981 "Back to the Future" DeLorean Replica, and a 1985 "Magnum P.I." Ferrari 308 Replica. The Showcase Pavilion can be found in the infield NASCAR Xfinity Series garage.
Manufacturers' Midway
The Manufacturers Midway is where you will find sources for automotive upgrades and aftermarket parts. Displays include performance vehicles, automotive specialty products, neon signage, shop equipment and related services offered by local, national, and international brands. The Manufacturers Midway is located inside and around the NASCAR Cup garage.
